Welcome to the England Deaf Karting Association, a community created for Deaf and hard of hearing drivers who share a passion for karting and motorsport. We are committed to making karting accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of hearing ability.
This new website is supported by Motorsport UK funding, helping us develop opportunities for Deaf drivers, improve communication access, and grow participation in karting across England. With this support, we aim to strengthen our community and provide a clear pathway for drivers to enjoy both recreational and competitive racing.
All competition karting within the association operates under a maximum noise limit of 55dB to ensure a suitable and accessible environment for Deaf and hard of hearing participants. This standard helps maintain fairness, comfort, and safety for all drivers.
The England Deaf Karting Association brings together drivers, families, volunteers, and supporters in a welcoming environment where everyone can take part in the sport. We focus on building confidence, developing skills, and creating equal opportunities within motorsport.
Whether you are new to karting or already experienced, you are welcome here. This is your place to connect, learn, and be part of a growing Deaf motorsport community in England.
This is where your journey begins as a Deaf driver. We, the EDKA, in partnership with Motorsport UK, bring Deaf drivers together for pure racing action across the country through our community.

No limits. No barriers. Just racing.

The England Deaf Karting Association provides an outstanding learning environment where participants can grow not only in skill, but also in confidence, resilience, and a true passion for the sport. What sets the Association apart is its unwavering commitment to creating a space that is both safe and thrilling. It is a place where deaf drivers of all ages can learn at their own pace, experiment with new techniques, and push themselves to achieve personal bests, all while experiencing the pure excitement that karting brings.
Over the past year, I have had the privilege of watching a close friend of mine take part in lessons with the Association, and I have witnessed firsthand the incredible impact it has had on him. From the very beginning, the instructors approached each lesson with patience, encouragement, and a level of expertise that is truly exceptional. They have nurtured not just his technical abilities behind the wheel, but also his sense of self-belief, determination, and pride in his own accomplishments. Every session has been a step forward, building not only skills, but also character and confidence.
What makes this journey even more remarkable is the way the Association fosters a sense of community. The support is not limited to instruction, it extends to creating an environment where drivers encourage each other, celebrate successes together, and learn from setbacks. This supportive atmosphere allows participants to challenge themselves, take risks, and grow in a way that is both safe and empowering. It is rare to find an organisation that combines such high standards of training with genuine care for the individuals involved, and that is exactly what makes the England Deaf Karting Association so special…..
